Nintendo won a lawsuit against Yuzu, the most popular Nintendo Switch emulator.

Nintendo has won a lawsuit against Yuzu, the most popular emulator for the Nintendo Switch. As a result, Yuzu has been forced to pay $2.4 million to the creators of Mario and Zelda and has to completely shut down its operations. Nintendo Switch filed the lawsuit against Yuzu for allowing piracy and circumventing the company's technology.
Yuzu is an open-source project, which means anyone can continue developing it with the emulator. However, the name and branding will no longer be available, nor will the website or any means of installing the emulator on players' devices.
Nintendo's lawsuit was based on the company's alleged distribution of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which is copyrighted material and illegal. The agreement they reached prevents Yuzu from going to court but forces it to end production and distribution.
