5G adoption in Mexico is still under development.

The implementation of 5G technology in Mexico is fairly recent. The country is positioned as one of the regional leaders in adopting this advanced technology in Latin America. Its beginnings are attributed to the AT&T network and later to the launch of América Móvil. Despite its high adoption rate, its participation rate is low compared to other countries.

According to the consulting firm The Ciu, by the end of 2023, Mexico is expected to have 143.5 million mobile users. However, only 4.5% of these users will use 5G technology on their cell phones, for a total of 6.6 million users. This is favorable, considering that 4G adoption was slower.

Adoption progress in Latin American countries such as Mexico, Chile, and Argentina is complex compared to other countries like the United States and China. This is largely due to the fact that many users don't fully understand the benefits of the new network. Furthermore, the impact it will have on economic sectors has prevented widespread use of the network.
